Letter to Hau'ula 'Ohana

Aloha e na 'ohana o Hau'ula,

We were made aware that a school employee was in close contact with a family member who was in close contact with a positive COVID-19 case. We are taking necessary precautions to keep our students and staff safe by following the Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) guidance. The employee will not be returning to campus and will be in quarantine until we receive documentation of a negative test result. We have notified those students and staff who may have come into close contact with the employee. Again, we have not been made aware of any positive COVID-19 cases acquired from campus. We wanted to inform you of the action steps we are taking to continue to keep our school community safe.

The Department of Health (DOH) defines close contact as being within 6 feet of the person for 15 minutes or longer or having direct contact with the infected person's secretions (e.g., coughed directly into face of contact, hugging). School Updates: Change to device distribution

Aloha e nā ʻohana o Hau‘ula,

In light of the increasing number of requests for student devices we will be adjusting the schedule and implementing the following changes:
Distribution dates have been moved to Thursday, Aug. 20 from 3pm-4:30pm and Monday, Aug. 24 from 8-4pm. We will be fulfilling requests in the following order:
1. Families who completed the Opt-In Distance Learning form and requested a device by Aug. 8
2. Families who completed the Opt-In Distance Learning form or the Device Request form by Aug. 12
3. All others who requested a device online, in person or on the phone from Aug. 13
We will be contacting our families using the email that was submitted with the request form. If you need to provide that information, please call our office at 305-2100.

Aloha e nā ʻohana o Hau‘ula,

I hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits. This is an outline of our schedule for the week of August 17-20 which is PHASE I of the Department’s Modification To School Reopening Plans for all O'ahu public schools. Please know that this is a change from our blended learning plan (Full Distance Learning and Face-to-Face on M, T, TH, F/Distance Learning on W), because of new safeguards and restrictions prompted by the increasing number of COVID-19 cases on the island.

As we continue to monitor the pandemic, we could be expecting more changes. We will keep updating you and thank you in advance for your patience, positivity and aloha.

● Device Care and Internet Safety Training - Aug. 13 4:00-4:45 pm rescheduled for Aug. 14 2:00-2:45 pm (online)
